Smart School Initiative Vital For Educational, Technological Advancement Of Enugu Schoolchildren – CSDA Boss

The General Manager of Enugu State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Chief Monday Diamond Ani, says Gov. Peter Mbah’s Smart School Initiative vital for educational and technological (Edu-tech) advancement of young learners in the state.

Ani said this on Thursday in Enugu as the Keynote Speaker at the Enugu State Secondary Schools Debate Championship on the topic: “Artificial Intelligence (AI): Its Merits and Demerits on the Society at Large”.

The event was organised by Placee Educational Consult (PEC) in partnership with House on the Rock Church, Enugu.

Ani urged parents, guardians aand students to take maximise advantage and utilisation of the Enugu Smart School initiative with its real-time technological learning gadgets and inputs.

According to him, Gov. Mbah’s Smart School Initiative is playing vital roles in shaping the future of our children in Enugu State, especially as the world is rapidly drifting into edu-tech generational era.

He said that the initiative would close the gap between a young learner in a remote locality in the state with their contemporaries in the advanced world.

“Enugu Smart School Initiative is the best gift Gov. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is giving to the people of the state especially our schoolchildren and young learners.

“The 260 Enugu Smart School, one in each political ward in the state, will ensure that no child is left out learning as their counterparts in London, New York or elsewhere in the world.

“It will afford our young learners the ability to attune their aspiration, life-style and hard work to tech-innovative visions and ideas needed in a fast-paced technological world,” he said.

Ani urged the young learners to be humble and subject themselves to the teachings and directives of their teachers to achieve more in life.

He said, “It should be clear to you (students or young learners) that being born with a silver spoon doesn’t guarantee growing successfully with a golden or diamond spoon.

“However, with moral standards, discipline, patriotism and a dint of tenacious hard work would definitely propel an improved and better future for an individual, notwithstanding his or her family background.”

The CSDA boss urged the young learners to be proud of residing in the state and should explore the opportunities provided therein by the state government, organisations and faith-based institutions.

He commended the Convener of the Enugu State Secondary Schools Debate Championship, Mr Ezekiel Kilani, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of PEC, for his investment in education.

In the two-day debate, which attracted over 120 secondary students entries to represent their schools, the competitors slugged it out with spontaneous intellectual arguments registering their points in convincing dispositions.

At the end, the College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu representatives came first; while Bethel Home Convent, Enugu representatives came second and Drew Philipps Academy representatives came Third.
