Hon.  Shina Peller, has called for a shift from rhetoric to concrete actions capable of addressing the country’s socioeconomic challenges, as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Peller, a former federal lawmaker and entrepreneur, said this in an Independence Day message, acknowledged the economic difficulties confronting households and businesses, saying the realities facing Nigerians should not be glossed over.

He noted that public trust in government remained fragile, stressing the need for leaders to adopt practical approaches to national development.

Peller, however, expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, citing the resilience, creativity and determination of Nigerians, particularly young people who continue to contribute to the economy and make an impact across various sectors.

He said national renewal required greater youth inclusion, economic decentralisation and courageous leadership.

According to him, Nigeria needs leaders and citizens committed to taking action, demanding accountability and creating practical solutions rather than relying on rhetoric and statistics.

As part of his Independence Day activities, Peller announced a ₦3 million empowerment initiative, the “Independence Day Liftteller Giveaway,” which will provide ₦100,000 each to 30 beneficiaries in three phases.

He said participants are required to download and register on the Liftteller app, follow his profile and answer trivia questions to be posted on his official social media platforms and Liftteller handle.

Peller explained that the first 10 participants to correctly answer the questions in each phase would receive the cash prize.

He also warned members of the public against fraudsters who might attempt to exploit the initiative through fake accounts, impersonation or unauthorised payment requests.

Peller said he had not authorised any separate groups or channels to administer the giveaway or request payment or banking details from participants.

He urged interested participants to rely only on his verified communication channels and exercise caution to avoid falling victim to scammers as the first phase of the contest begins.

Liftteller, launched on Sept. 12, 2026, is a social networking platform designed to connect people seeking assistance with individuals willing to provide monetary or non-monetary support.

The platform, which is available on the web, Android and iOS, describes itself as a digital space “where connection meets compassion” and has set a target of onboarding two million users by December 2026.
