NCRIB endorses insurance meets Tech 5.0, rallies brokers to participate

The President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Mrs Ekeoma Ezeibe, has urged insurance brokers to actively engage with emerging technologies to remain relevant in the evolving industry.
Ezeibe made the call during a courtesy visit by the Insurance Meets Tech (IMT) team to the NCRIB, where the council endorsed the fifth edition of the annual insurance and technology conference.
She said technology was no longer peripheral to insurance, but central to how value was created, consumers served and businesses remained competitive.
“Technology is no longer a peripheral conversation for the insurance industry; it is central to how we create value, serve consumers and remain relevant in a rapidly changing environment.
“For insurance brokers, this is particularly important because we are professional advisers and a critical link between consumers and the wider insurance value chain.
“We must therefore be at the forefront of understanding and harnessing the technologies shaping our profession,” she said.
The NCRIB president urged brokers and other insurance professionals to participate in discussions on technology, innovation and the future of the industry.
She said the fifth edition of IMT provided an opportunity for brokers to play a more active role in shaping conversations around technological development in insurance.
The conference, scheduled for Nov. 20 at the Balmoral Event Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, is with the theme: “Building Insurance That Connects.”
According to the organisers, discussions will focus on digital transformation, emerging technologies, professional development, customer experience and the evolving insurance ecosystem.
Odion Aleobua, Convener of IMT and Founder, Creato Urban, said the NCRIB’s endorsement was significant as the platform marked its fifth edition.
Aleobua said the conference was designed to provide an avenue for stakeholders to move discussions on technology beyond theory to practical solutions and collaboration.
He said insurance brokers were central to the industry, noting that they controlled more than 90 per cent of the country’s total commercial premium.
“Brokers are central to the insurance ecosystem, and their perspectives are critical to conversations around technology, customer experience and the future of the industry.
“IMT 5.0 is designed to create a platform where these conversations can move beyond theory into meaningful exchange, collaboration and practical solutions,” he said.
The fifth edition will feature panel discussions, keynote sessions, technology showcases and networking opportunities.
The event is expected to bring together insurance professionals, technology experts, regulators, innovators, investors, policymakers and entrepreneurs.
The Insurance Meets Tech conference is an annual platform focused on collaboration between the insurance industry and the technology ecosystem.
It provides stakeholders with opportunities to discuss digital transformation, innovation, industry growth and customer-focused solutions.
