The Leader of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, has urged Muslims across the country to refrain from religion and ethic conflcts aimed at dividing them.

Zakzaky, who gave the charge in Abuja, said enemies benefit from conflcts and lack of unity in the Muslim community.

The speech was delivered at the Mawlid of the Prophet of Mercy (S), also called the 1st Rabi’ul Thani, 1448 AH (13th September 2026), organised by the Islamic Movement’s Resource Forum on Sunday and the statement made available to newsmen on Monday.

The leader reminded the community of the importance of unity and returning to the authentic teachings of the religion that the Prophet of Mercy (S) came with.

He said: “This Prophet came with a complete and perfect religion, and he established the community upon it.

“What is required of us is to follow it.”

He further stated that the enemies are trying to defame the personality of the Prophet of Mercy (S) because they understand that Muslims hold him as a symbol in their lives.

He also drew the attention of the community to the conflicts being instigated among Muslims, stating that such conflicts, whether in the name of religion or ethnicity, do not benefit the Muslim community.

“Rather, it is only the enemies who instigate them that benefit for their own self-interest,” he said.

Zakzaky reiterated that it is the enemies who instigate conflicts and security problems in order to distract people, while they steal our wealth and further plunge people into poverty and division.

The leader explained that understanding the methods of these enemies, along with unity within the community and a return to the authentic teachings of the Prophet of Mercy (S), is what will bring solutions to the problems we are facing.

The programme, which the Resource Forum organises every year, was attended by participants from different segments of the Muslim community, including Imams, scholars, workers and other members of the public.
