Health Ministry Felicitates Gov. Mbah Over Conferment of Doctor of Law
The Enugu State Ministry of Health has felicitated Gov. Peter Mbah on the deserving conferment of a Doctor of Law Degree (honoris causa) by his alma mater, the University of East London, United Kingdom.
It would be recalled that the University of East London (UEL), United Kingdom on Thursday bestowed Mbah with the honour during the graduation ceremony at the Docklands Campus of UEL, United Kingdom.
This is contained in a congratulatory message signed and issued by the Commissioner for Health, Prof. George Ugwu, on behalf of the ministry on Friday.
Ugwu noted that the distinguished honour had celebrated Mbah’s exceptional journey of intellectual excellence, enterprise, public service and transformational leadership.
According to him, the recognition is also a true testament to Gov. Mbah’s exceptional leadership and the remarkable impact he continues to make in Enugu State and Nigeria society in general.
“His Excellency, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has distinguished himself by an overwhelming commitment and investment in health of the people through a functional four-tier health system.
“We have newly-built 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across each ward; upgrade of 54 secondary hospitals (general and cottage hospitals), funding and updated of two tertiary teaching hospitals and brand new state-of-the-art 300-bed Enugu International Hospital.
“With a personal conviction and passion, His Excellency is building a fortified health security system not just for every child, mother and father within Enugu State but the entire Nigeria people and Africa,” he said.
The commissioner said that the ministry and its personnel would continue to celebrate a visionary leader, whose service and commitment demonstrate that every life counts and Enugu remains a global reference point for optimal healthcare services.
“Once again, Congratulations, Your Excellency, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Doctor of Laws (honoris causa),” he said.
