Chairman Odo Hails Gov. Mbah, CSDA For WHO Defecation Free Certification Of Igbo-Etiti Council
The Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area in Enugu State, Dr Eric Odo, has hailed Gov. Peter Mbah and Enugu State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) over World Health Organization’s open defecation free certification of the council.
Odo gave the commendation on Friday when he paid a courtesy visit to CSDA in Enugu.
He also commended the Agency for its efforts towards improving the lives of vulnerable and rural communities across the state.
The chairman attributed the Agency’s rapid growth to the proactiveness of the General Manager, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani.
According to him, the CSDA and its staff have shown dedication and professionalism in delivering a lasting outcome through a valid output of a teamwork anchored on a team spirit.
“The council appreciates His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his strong support for the Agency towards provision of potable water to rural communities.
“The provision of potable water also comes with the construction of public toilets for the total eradication of open defecation in communities and council areas in the state.
“These people-oriented initiatives are significant steps towards improving sanitation, public health and the wellbeing of residents,” he said.
Odo called for increased collaboration, advocacy and funding for CSDA.
The chairman urged the Agency to continue prioritising vulnerable communities and providing essential services such as potable water and sanitation facilities to rural dwellers.
Responding, Ani commended the chairman for the visit, describing it as a bold step towards a consolidated partnership between the Agency and Igbo-Etiti council.
The CSDA boss also appreciated Odoh and the council for supporting the efforts of the Agency by constructing some potable water boreholes in Igbo-Etiti council area.
“CSDA is grateful for your investment, efforts, mobilisation and reorientation of the people resulting in making Igbo-Etiti LGA a World Health Organization’s Certified Open Defecation Free Local Government in Enugu State,” he said.
