Leadway Assurance has partnered with Insurtainment, a platform dedicated to advancing insurance adoption across entertainment and creative sectors, to deepen insurance penetration and strengthen risk protection for creatives.
The partnership began with Leadway’s participation in the inaugural Insurtainment Policy and Industry Forum 2026 held in Lagos.
Speaking on the collaboration in a statement on Thursday, the Managing Director of Leadway Assurance, Mr Gboyega Lesi, said the partnership, a strategic investment, would help to boost the nation’s fastest-growing economic sectors.
Lesi said Nigeria’s entertainment and media industry was projected to generate nearly 4.9 billion dollars in revenue in 2026, making it a significant contributor to economic growth, employment and global cultural influence.
He said insurance should serve as a strategic enabler of growth by protecting creative talents, productions and businesses against emerging risks.
“Our partnership with Insurtainment reflects Leadway’s belief that meaningful progress happens when industries collaborate to solve shared challenges.
“By bringing together insurers, policymakers and creative professionals, we can develop practical solutions that respond to the realities of the entertainment industry, giving creators, investors and businesses the confidence to pursue bigger opportunities while safeguarding the value they create,” he said.
Also, Mr Olawale Alao, Head of Commercial (B2B), Leadway Assurance, said insurance remained critical to unlocking the full potential of Nigeria’s creative economy.
Alao said the sector was a major driver of economic diversification, job creation and global competitiveness, but required adequate risk protection to attract investment and support sustainable growth.
He said Leadway viewed insurance beyond claims settlement, describing it as a tool for protecting value, managing risks and boosting investor confidence.
According to him, the partnership with Insurtainment aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding insurance inclusion through innovative solutions tailored to individuals, talents and businesses within the creative sector.
He added that the collaboration would provide a platform for continuous engagement aimed at improving insurance awareness, encouraging product innovation and strengthening resilience across Nigeria’s creative economy. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
