Abuja (FLOWERBUDNEWS): The 25 million Member-Strong Artisans of the Building and Construction Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN) have expressed full support for President Bola Tinubu, while reiterating their call for appointment of a Special Adviser on Artisans Affairs.
FLOWERBUDNEWS reports that BACSAAN is the umbrella body for all artisans in the country including capenters, welders, bricklayers, Tilers, Fashion Designers, Iron Benders, Painters, Marble Tilers, Furniture Makers, Tailors, Mechanics, Rewires, Candle Makers, Soap Makers, Shoe Makers, Vulcanisers and Hair dressers, among others.
BACSAAN National President, Haj Fasasi Muhammad Jamiu, who spoke in an interview with FLOWERBUDNEWS on Friday in Abuja, expressed the artisans’ ‘:confidence and trust” in the administration of President Tinubu to lift Nigeria to unprecedented greatness and prosperity.
”Though, some of the President’s reformative economic policies had been tough, Pres. Tinubu’s antecedent as a compassionate leader, kind and generous person gave Nigerians, and artisans in particular, trust and confidence that he meant well for us,” Haj Fasasi stressed.
Fasasi however urged the to take action on BACSAAN request that a member of the Association should appointed as a Special Adviser on artisan affairs.
The BACSAAN National President, who disclosed that the association had written a formal letter to the president since 2024 requesting for a position of Special Adviser on artisans affairs.
he was confident that the welfare and other needs of his teeming members would be receiving prompt attention from the President.
”On behalf of our teeming members across the country, I appeal to President Tinubu, the father to all downtrodden artisan, to accede to our request by appointing one of us as Special Adviser on artisans,” Haj Fasasi said.
“A Special Adviser would help champion the cause and welfare of artisans in the country effectively,”the BACSAAN National President told FLOWERBUDNEWS.
He reiterated that ”BACSAAN is the overall umbrella body for all artisans in the country, and has members, offices and officials across the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)”.
He also stressed that BACSAAN’s 25-Million member strength was verified through membership subscription totalled from all the 36 states and the FCT leading to support and collaboration from several professional and governmental bodies..
”We currently have very robust operational relationship with the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Federal Ministry of Works and many other national institutions,” the BACSAAN National President disclosed. (FLOWERBUDNEWS)
