Issuing Houses association marks 30 years of advancing capital market

The Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria (AIHN) is set to celebrate 30 years of contributing to the development and advancement of Nigeria’s capital market.
Mrs Onyebuchim Obiyemi, Secretary of Administration, AIHN, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
Obiyemi described the milestone as significant in the history of the association and an opportunity to reflect on its three-decade journey.
She said the anniversary would recognise the people, institutions and partnerships that had contributed to the growth of Nigeria’s capital market.
According to her, AIHN and its members have played important roles in mobilising capital, facilitating investments and supporting businesses and governments to access funding.
She said the association had also contributed to the growth and evolution of Nigeria’s financial markets.
“Our 30th anniversary is, therefore, an opportunity to celebrate not only the association’s journey, but also the people, institutions and partnerships that have shaped the capital market over the years,” she said.
Obiyemi said the anniversary would also enable stakeholders to reflect on developments in the investment banking and capital market ecosystem.
She added that the celebration would help strengthen relationships among stakeholders across the sector.
She said activities marking the anniversary would be held under the theme, ‘Three Decades of Catalysing Capital, Pioneering the Future and Enabling Wealth.’
The programme is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, in Lagos.
The secretary of administration said the celebration would culminate in a 30th Anniversary Awards Night and Dinner on Wednesday.
The event is expected to attract stakeholders from the capital market, financial services industry, business community, government and other sectors.
Obiyemi said past members of AIHN’s Executive Committee, former Directors-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the association’s clients were also expected.
She said the awards would recognise outstanding contributions and achievements across the investment banking and capital market ecosystem.
Award categories include Best DCM House of the Year, Best Equity House of the Year, Best M&A House of the Year and Best Investment Bank of the Year, among others.
