A House of Representatives hopeful for Ede Federal Constituency, Osun State, Hon. Barrister Tajudeen Adetunji Ajagbe, has called on Nigerians to renew their hope in the country and remain committed to peace and unity as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence anniversary.
Ajagbe, in an Independence Day message to the people of Ede Federal Constituency and Osun State, described October 1 as an important occasion to reflect on the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers and the journey of the nation since independence.
He said the anniversary should not only be a period of celebration but also an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country’s challenges, pray for its progress and renew their commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous nation.
According to him, Nigeria’s development must be driven by policies and programmes that create opportunities for young people and improve the livelihoods of families across the country.
He specifically called for greater support for farmers, traders and artisans, noting that these groups play important roles in the economy and should be provided with the necessary opportunities to improve their businesses and livelihoods.
Ajagbe, who is seeking to represent Ede Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, comprising Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo, said his aspiration was anchored on purposeful representation and effective legislative intervention.
He pledged to pursue quality legislation and initiatives that would bring the dividends of democracy closer to constituents if given the opportunity to serve.
“Our mission is to build a stronger Ede Federal Constituency that we will all be proud of,” he said.
The House of Representatives hopeful also urged residents of the constituency and Nigerians generally to promote peaceful coexistence, love and unity, stressing that collective efforts were necessary to achieve sustainable development.
He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, urging citizens not to lose faith in the country despite its challenges.
Ajagbe congratulated Nigerians, particularly the people of Ede Federal Constituency and Osun State, on the 66th Independence anniversary and wished the country continued peace, progress and prosperity.
