Bariga LCDA chairman inaugurates a new mobile clinic bus
The Chairman, Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Mrs Omope Adedeji has inaugurated a new Bariga Mobile Clinic bus, to provide grassroots healthcare closer to the people of the communities.
Adedeji made this known at the unveiling ceremony at the council Secretariat in Lagos on Wednesday.
The chairman said the mobile bus would travel across all eight wards in Bariga to make clinical services convenient and accessible outside conventional health centers.
Adedeji said the initiative marks an important step in the Council’s efforts to make healthcare more accessible and convenient for members of the community.
According to her, with the Bariga Mobile Clinic Bus, the council is taking healthcare beyond the walls of health centres and bringing it directly to the people.
He said: “This initiative is aimed at bringing essential healthcare services closer to residents within the community.
“The mobile clinic is to provide healthcare services within communities, helping residents access medical attention closer to where they live and work.
“Unlike a conventional ambulance, the Bariga Mobile Clinic Bus is designed as a mobile clinical service.
“The bus is equipped to provide immediate basic healthcare, first aid, health education, preliminary medical attention, and other essential health-related services.”
Adedeji said this service further demonstrates her commitment in strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery and improving the overall well-being of the people of Bariga.
The chairman said the council remains committed to initiatives that positively impact the lives of residents and contribute to a healthier and stronger community.
Present at the unveiling is the Vice Chairman, Mr Babatunde Adeshida, the Deputy leader, Mr Sakiru Olayinka and other councillors.
Among others are the Council scribe, Mr Abdulkareem Adebayo and other supervisors, the council manager, Mr Olayiwola Giwa and the management team.
