NPA, NDPHC Partnership boosts Nigeria’s power infrastructure delivery
Lagos, Aug. 24, 2026, The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Ltd., NDPHC, has lauded the Nigerian Ports Authority, (NPA) for helping recover abandoned cargoes at various seaports nationwide.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued by NPA’s General Manager, Corporate Communications and Strategy, Mr Ikechukwu Onyemekara, and released to the media on Monday in Lagos.
The appreciation came during a courtesy visit by NDPHC management, led by the Managing Director, Mrs Jennifer Adighije, to the NPA headquarters at Marina, Lagos.
Adighije said the successful recovery of the cargoes would significantly enhance power sector optimisation and improve service delivery to Nigerians across the country.
She noted that the visit aimed to strengthen the strategic partnership between both organisations and deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest to national development.
The NDPHC boss expressed appreciation to the NPA Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, and his team for facilitating the release of the company’s stranded consignments at different ports.
According to her, the NPA’s intervention averted major financial losses and saved NDPHC several billions of naira that would have been lost to demurrage and delays.
Adighije stressed that efficient logistics and prompt clearance of critical equipment were vital to the timely execution of power infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
She added that sustained collaboration between energy and maritime agencies was necessary to eliminate bottlenecks affecting the delivery of key power sector components.
The NDPHC chief said the company valued NPA’s support and looked forward to further strengthening the relationship for the benefit of the power sector and the economy.
Members of the NDPHC delegation included Executive Director, Corporate Services, Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, and Executive Director, Finance and Accounts, Mr Omololu Agoro.
Also in attendance was the Head of Expediting and Logistics, Mr. Rufai Ahmed, who provided insights on the challenges faced during cargo clearance processes.
Responding, NPA Managing Director, Dr Dantsoho expressed delight at the visit and reaffirmed NPA’s commitment to supporting partnerships that drive national development and improve citizens’ welfare.
He congratulated NDPHC on its contributions to Nigeria’s power sector and assured the delegation of continued support for initiatives that advance both organisations’ mandates.
Dantsoho said inter-agency collaboration remained critical to removing logistical obstacles that delay infrastructure projects, especially in power where timely equipment delivery is essential.
