A resident of Ede, Mr Ajetunmobi Sodiq on Sunday, said he had always been positive that Governor Ademola Adeleke would win a re-election if the process is free and fair.
Sodiq who was among other people at the residence of Gov. Adeleke, to celebrate his victory at the Saturday August 15 governorship poll, said his only fear was if INEC was going to be partial.
He said he was confident of Adeleke’s victory, if the election is free and fair.
“We understand that there were antagonists that wish to violate the electoral procedures and disrupt the election.
“However, they couldn’t succeed as people turned out massively to cast their votes for their candidates and stood by it to get the results they were expecting.
“Our major fear was about any form of manipulation at the point of coalition at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) centres, which could be the point where things could turn sideways”, he said.
He said it is great relief as the declaration of the winner went in accordance to the expectations of the people of Osun State.
He expressed his happiness, saying he is so ecstatic and that his heart is filled with joy, that nothing can overturned.
Speaking on 2027 general election, Sodiq said the outcome would reflect the will of Nigerians if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) maintain proper standards.
He advised that, Nigerians should always exercise their electoral right, by turning out massively to vote during elections, and not to have the mindset that their votes do not count or indulge in vote selling.
“Then, we should always try everything possible to secure our votes to the point the winner is declared.
“At the same time, we should pray for the Lord’s guidance to elected leaders that will never disappoint the trust reposed in him, and govern us well.
