Suspense mounted on Saturday night following a reported halt in the uploading of polling unit results from the Osun State governorship election to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

The development attracted attention as the collation of results from the election continued across the state.

Earlier in the day, INEC had commenced uploading results from the 3,763 polling units in the state to the IReV portal, with the number of uploaded results steadily increasing as the exercise progressed.

However, at about 8:45pm the upload process had stalled, with concerns raised over the delay in the electronic publication of further polling unit results.

Subsequent checks reported that the uploading process resumed, with INEC later recording significant increases in the number of results available on the IReV portal. As at the time of filing this report 3292 of the expected 3,763 polling unit results had been uploaded
