Calabar (Flowerbudnews): The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi has appointed two new Head of Departments to further energise the academic operations of the tertiary institution.
A statement by the Public Relations Unit of the University said that the VC appinted Dr. John Atambel Okweije as Acting Head, Department of Opthalmology.
The Vice Chancellor also appointed Dr. Aaron Ogbonna Nwogu as Acting Head, Department of linguistics and Nigerian Languages.
The appointments, which was conveyed in separate letters signed by the Vice Chancellor, are for a period of two years, with effect from 1st October, 2024 to 30th September, 2026.
According to the letter, ”the appointment is to give room for the new HODs to implement laudable programmes of repositioning the Departments for more efficiency.”
The Vice Chancellor charged them to discharge their duties diligently by effectively administering their Departments to ensure optimal productivity.
Prof. Obi warned that her administration not hesitate to sanction any Head of Department who failed to turn in results within the given timeline or who breaches University Regulation. (Flowerbudnews)
