An Osogbo Magistrate Court on Wednesday remanded a 19-year-old boy, Lateef Adekunle, in Ilesha Correctional Center for allegedly in possession of substance suspected to be cannabis, popularly called India hemp.
The prosecutor, Idowu Rachael, told the court that the accused person committed the crime on November 4, 2019 at Owode Market, Okuku town, in Osun State.
He added that the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under section 249(d) of the Criminal Code cap 38c law of Osun State.
The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the two- count charge levelled against him.
The magistrate, Risikat Olayemi, therefore, ordered that the accused be remanded at Ilesa correctional centre till November 11, as she transferred the case to Okuku Magistrate Court.
