KIYI (FCT) FLOWERBUDNEWS: For inhabitants of the agrarian Abuja village of KIYI, the Muslim salah celebration has always been exciting and laced with fun and happiness all around.

This year’s Eid el Adha was, however, celebrated with so much joy, excitement and camaraderie. Preparation for the day began in the early hours of the blessed day in many homes. Children were bathed and dressed gorgeously, while girls and other women came out on the village streets, wearing their bests.

The men were also radiant in their assorted attires. Some wearing babarigas,.simple caftans and . scores of boys wearing variously designec native dresses and even smart jeans etc.

People of KIYI village, who are predominantly muslims, from my experience, cherish the days of Sallah celebrations a lot.

The Salat – prayers were brief at the eid ground, enabling the people to return to fo the needful – slaughtering rams, goats on appreciation yo ALLAH, and remembering the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (ASM) to ALLAH.

Days of ALLAH CELEBRATION. Sallah celebrations are special days celebrated by Muslims in the whole wide world.

We have two Sallah celebrations, the first is the first day of the month of “Shawwal”after the the month of”Ramadan”(the fasting month).

(The writer in meditative mood at KIYI Eid praying ground)

While the second one is celebrated on the tenth of”Dhul-hijjah” the gap between these two special days is about seventy days.

Sallahs are celebrated at the Eid prayer ground where Muslims gather to worship ALLAH. It brings and unite Muslims together,it brings about happiness in the society.

Beautiful clothes are being worn by Muslims.Food, gifts and many are being shared amongst neighbors, families and friends.

Eidul-fitr which is celebrated on the first of the month of Shawwal, the activities carried out also consists of giving out Zakkah to the needy which is compulsory for people that are capable,

While the Eid- el-adha is the one people slaughter certain animals for the reward from ALLAh. Sallahs brings about love and generosity,

In KIYI, the two Sallahs are enjoyed not just by Muslims alone but by non-muslims. (FLOWERBUDNEWS)
