  • Salah: Ayede Poly Rector Rejoices with Muslims, Urges Nigerians to Continue to Assist the Nation’s Leaders with Dua

    By Aliyu Mofoluwaso Raheem

Ayede (FLOWERBUDNEWS): The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed,has felicitated Muslims on the occasion of 1446 AH Eid-El-kabir with a call on Nigerians to intensify Dua for the nation’s leaders for them to succeed.

” Muslims and Nigerians should continue to pray for Nigeria and their leaders because the prayers of Prophet Ibrahim for his nation, offspring and his descendants continue manifest in the life of his people today,” Dr. AbdulHameed said in the message of felicitation.

The Rector particularly tasked the Islamic faithfuls to practicalise the real essence of the festival, the institution’s Protocols and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Adepọju, disclosed in a statement.

Dr. AbdulHameed congratulated the governing council led by Honourable Yakubu Dati, Management, staff, students of the Polytechnic Community and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the Eid celebration.

The Rector said, “On this 1446 AH Eid-El-kabir, I want to, on behalf of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, join the rest of the world to congratulate all Muslims on the celebration of the festival.

“On behalf of the governing council of Federal Oolytechnic Ayede, ably led by distinguished Hon. Yakubu Dati (fnipr), Management, staff and students, I want to enjoin all Muslims to rise up in their act of worship, sacrifice, devotion and Godliness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim during his lifetime.”

Dr Abdul-Hameed said the essence of today’s celebration was as result of obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to Almighty Allah whereby his readiness to sacrifice his only son to Allah paved the way for being rewarded with a ram for sacrifice instead of his son as it is stated in the Quran 37 verses 100 to 109.

He said if Nigeria would surmount the challenges before it, the country and its leaders must inculcate the spirit of obedience, devotion to duty, sacrifice and faithfulness as embodied by Prophet Ibrahim.

Dr Abdul-Hameed urged Muslims to prioritise giving during this period as it is the practice of Holy prophet Muhammad to divide his meat of sacrifice into three parts: one for his own household, another for the neighbours and the third part to the poor and the needy.

He said the remembrance of Allah is the utmost when slaughtering the animals for feast of the festival as Allah stipulates in the Quran 22 verse 37 “It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him; we have made them subject to you that you may magnify Allah for His guidance to you.”

The Rector said Muslims and Nigerians should continue to pray for Nigeria and their leaders because the prayers of Prophet Ibrahim for his nation, offspring and his descendants continue manifest in the life of his people today.

Dr Abdul-Hameed, therefore, enjoined Muslims to celebrate with modesty, and remember that there is life after festive period.

The Director of the CSAED, Mr. Oluwaseun Owojori, highlighted the operations of the centre saying, “Presently, we have three skills approved by the NBTE and they are electrical installation, plumbing and interior decoration. We are also proposing two more: garment making and social media communication.

“When students come here, we give them first hand training and they will be given the opportunity to practicalise and demonstrate. Of course, their practical will be reviewed.

”Through that method, they are certified to be skilled. At FEDPA, we are currently running 13 courses and we don’t only give them education in their courses of studies, but they will also be skilled before graduation. So, this will be a solution to Nigeria’s unemployment.

At the centre, there was presentation of some of the centre’s products (leather shoes, germicides, liquid soap, among others) to the chairman and members of the council. (FLOWERBUDNEWS)
