    Ayede (Oyo State) FLOWERBUDNEWS: The Campus of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede in Oyo State bubbled on Wednesday when the Chairman and members of the Governing Council of the budding institution paid a working visit to its permanent site.

    The visit, which was described as a pivotal moment in the institution’s development trajectory, was met with high praise from staff, community stakeholders, and management, who hailed the Governing Council’s involvement as a clear testament to its dedication to excellence, accountability, and sustainable development

    The Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Hon. Yakubu Dati, was particularly showered with commendations for his inspiring leadership and steadfast commitment to the growth of the young institution, as he led members of the Council on a strategic inspection tour of the Polytechnic’s permanent site at Ayede in Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area, Oyo State.

    Describing the visit as timely and visionary, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, acknowledged the Chairman’s tireless drive and the Council’s commitment to ensuring that the permanent site becomes a model of modern technical education.

    Dr. AbdulHameed attributed the institution’s impressive early achievements ”including student enrollment growing from zero to over one thousand within a short period ”to the backing of a result-driven Governing Council and the unwavering support of the Federal Government.

    ‘:The presence of the Governing Council at our permanent site today is a bold statement that we are not just dreaming, we are building.

    ”This is the kind of leadership institutions hope for intentional, supportive, and forward-thinking,” the Rector stated.

    Honourable Yakubu Dati, a distinguished public servant and former commissioner with vast experience in governance, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and reassured the Polytechnic community of the Council’s determination to fast-track infrastructural and academic development.

    ”Our goal is clear to support this Polytechnic to rise as a centre of innovation and industry-ready graduates.

    ‘:We are not here to observe; we are here to act, to guide, and to ensure that the vision behind establishing this institution is fully realized,” Dati affirmed.

    The Polytechnic community also extended heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his educational vision and for Federal Government approving the establishment of the institution, describing the move as one that will redefine the economic and educational landscape of Ayede and its environs.

    Special commendation was also reserved for the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Yusuf Tunji Alausa; the Executive Secretary of NBTE, Professor Idris Bugaje; and the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, for the consistent support and resources channeled towards the Polytechnic’s development.

    Stakeholders have called on sons and daughters of Ogbomoso, and the entire Oyo State, to rally behind the institution through community-driven support, ranging from road construction and provision of hostel facilities to social amenities and scholarships.

    This institution is not just a Federal presence; it is a community treasure. And by supporting its growth, we are writing a new chapter of opportunity, empowerment, and transformation for our people, one stakeholder noted.

    Ayede (Oyo State) FLOWERBUDNEWS: The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede (FEDPA), Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, has affirmed the commitment of the Institution to the achievement of Pres. Bola Tinubu’s vision for national educational growth and buoyancy.

    Dr. Abdul-Hameed gave the assurance while speaking during the presentation of academic books to the institution by Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) as part of the Federal Government ‘s efforts to boost learning and research in the nation’s polytechnics.

    The FEDPA Rector particularly acknowledged Federal Government’s continuous investment in the educational sector under the leadership of Pres. Tinubu through the Federal Ministry of Education and TETFUND.

    Dr. Abdul-Hameed described the recent distribution of academic books to polytechnics across the South-West as a transformative gesture that showed the government’s commitment to raising the standard of education in Nigeria.

    The Rector acknowledged the strategic importance of the TETFund initiative, saying ; ”the support is not only a boost to institutional libraries, but also a powerful contribution to the academic development of both students and staff.”

    ”We are sincerely grateful to TETFund and the Hon. Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, for the vision and the will to support institutions like ours.

    ”These books will go a long way in enriching our academic resources and enhancing the quality of learning in our polytechnic,” he said.

    The Rector also lauded the management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, for their role in coordinating the distribution process.

    Dr. Abdul-Hameed expressed deep gratitude to the Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi, for extending the hand of academic fellowship to Federal Polytechnic Ayede and other sister institutions.

    He described Dr. Lasisi as a leader committed to academic collaboration and national development.

    The Rector also acknowledged individuals who played key roles in the successful implementation of the book project, such as Dr. Taiwo Olajide, the Director of Academic Planning at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, who was instrumental in championing the development and production of the academic publications.

    Dr. AbdulHameed emphasised that Dr. Olajide’s dedication to educational excellence was evident in the quality and range of the materials distributed.

    The Rector also appreciated the internal support provided by Dr. Samuel Ogunniyi, the Librarian of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede. He commended Dr. Ogunniyi for efficiently coordinating the receipt, documentation, and shelving of the books, ensuring that they are accessible and ready for immediate academic use.

    The books received by Federal Polytechnic Ayede included key titles that cut across multiple disciplines, such as:

    Digital Electronics (Simplified Approach); Fundamental Issues in Rural Development; Introduction to Public Administration; Nigerian Government Finance (As Introductory Text); Philosophy and Society as Introductory Text;
    Understanding Citizenship Education in Nigeria; TPI Journal

    Dr. Abdul-Hameed reaffirmed the Polytechnic’s readiness to make maximum use of the resources. He emphasized that the institution remained committed to the national vision for education as championed by President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the Federal Ministry of Education.

    He assured all stakeholders that the books would be used to support research, teaching, and continuous academic growth.

    FLOWERBUDNEWS learnt that each of the publications was delivered in multiple copies, reinforcing the institution’s drive toward improving academic resources.

    A renowned development expert and political advocate, Deacon (Dr.) Samson Segun Olalere, has hailed the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, stating that the institution was impacting positively of rural development and boosting local economy.

    Dr. Olalere, a respected economic consultant with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said that Ayede Polytechnic was also boosting regional integration.

    The Consultant lauded the Federal Government for establishing the Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, describing it as a “transformative gift” to the people of Ogbomoso and its surrounding communities.

    In an Easter Reflection chat with SOLIDSTARNEWS, Dr. Olalere emphasised the institution’s positive impact on grassroots development, local economies, and regional integration.

    “The siting of the Polytechnic in Ayede is a blessing that has opened up our region. Small businesses are growing, new housing is springing up, and our rural areas are being reconnected to the national grid of development,” he noted.

    He particularly praised the leadership of the institution’s Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed, for steering the Polytechnic towards early success, particularly its participation in national academic and sporting competitions.

    “That our Polytechnic can now compete on a national level within just a few years of its establishment is proof of the Rector’s dedication. We must all rally behind him and his team,” Olalere said.

    Dr. Olalere also commended traditional rulers for their unwavering support of the Polytechnic.

    He acknowledged the Aresa of Iresa-Apa, Oba Moses Olayiwola (JP), for promoting peace and community development, and extended heartfelt appreciation to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, for his progressive leadership in driving academic and infrastructural growth across Ogbomoso land.

    “The Soun has been a father figure and a unifying force. His wisdom and support have been instrumental in the Polytechnic’s early progress,” he added.

    In a passionate appeal, Dr. Olalere called on members of the National Assembly from Oyo State to make the Federal Polytechnic Ayede a strategic priority in future budgets and legislative initiatives.

    “This institution must move to its permanent site. I urge our senators and representatives—let this Polytechnic be a shared constituency legacy. With your budgetary input and constituency projects, we can make that dream a reality,” he said.

    He further encouraged all Ogbomoso indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora, to embrace the Polytechnic as a collective project that deserves unity, support, and investment.

    “We must not allow division or indifference. The Polytechnic belongs to all of us. Let us work together to build it into a center of excellence,” he urged.

    Dr. Olalere concluded his address with warm Easter greetings, praying that the resurrection of Christ would inspire a season of spiritual, economic, and national revival—especially in the education sector.
