2026: Agitations for zoning of governorship ticket to Osogbo self-serving, Adeleke’s aide
Alhaji Muniru Raji, Special Adviser to Gov. Ademola Adeleke on Political Matters, has described agitations by political gladiators for zoning of governorship ticket to Osogbo in 2026 election as self-serving.Raji, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Osogboland, made the remarks in Osogbo at a stakeholders engagement of Osogbo Affairs Forum.According to him, the agitation is ill-advised, what indigenes of this town need at this time is to ensure unity in order to advance their political aspirations.“2030 will be more realistic for Osogbo to come together and speak with one voice for their governorship aspiration to be fruitful.“Osogbo is not yet ripe to produce a governor in 2026, rather, the town should aim for unity before pursuing political ambitions.“Such agitation is self-serving, ill-advised and myopic.“What the town need now is to first put its house in order before their aspiration and wait for the next five years”, he said.Raji also said that internal disunity among Osogbo’s political stakeholders could jeopardise the chances of an Osogbo indigene becoming the governor of Osun in 2030.“They should jettison party politics of acrimony in the quest to further build a united front and formidable frontier to achieve the goal.“Osogbo is not ripe for a governorship push now. We need to put our house in order first.“Osogbo has the potential to lead the state, but disunity among our people remains a significant barrier.“Without a united front, achieving the dream of producing a governor from Osogbo will be nearly impossible.“Our focus should be on uniting our town and strengthening our foundations.“Political ambitions like Governor at this stage will only divide us,” he said.NAN -

2026: Seven Reasons Osun APC Cannot Beat Governor Adeleke
By Ijaduola (writes from Riverside, Iwo)
HACK writers are appearing on the stage to test the waters and to project the possibility of a change of guard at Abere in 2026. The strange thing is that the logic of their write-ups is weak even as they fail to address the lack of electable aspirants within the fold of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Below are seven reasons why the Osun APC cannot beat Governor Ademola Adeleke in 2026:
Strong united front within the state PDP
The state PDP is united from local to state level in its resolve to back Governor Adeleke for a second term. The senator representing Osun East and key leaders from the zone have backed the incumbent governor for his numerous developmental projects delivery in Ijeshaland. For Osun West, the governor has a solid home base in both Ede and Iwo alongside Ejigbo, Ikire, Gbongan, Odeomu, among others. For Osun Central, Osogbo people are strongly with the incumbent governor for his transformation of the state capital.
All key leaders of thought in Osogbo are strongly with Mr Governor. The groundswell of support for the governor is self-evident across the Igbomina area and other local governments across the central district.
Overwhelming performance on good governance
The delivery of the governor in education, health, agriculture, road infrastructure, among others, in just two years surprised even members of the opposition. The good performance has elicited positive reviews from far and near. The state APC cannot deny this reality as unsolicited awards for the governor are streaming in from all over the federation. For example, a recent federal review of access to primary health care placed Osun as number one in the South West.
Labour union endorsements
Most past governors in Osun political history lost reelection bid because they lost labour support. In Osun, labour leaders and followers are the main campaigners for the re-election of the incumbent. They applauded the governor for the ongoing payment of pension debt, the re-professionalisation of the public service and extensive records on workers’ welfare. Adeleke is the first governor in the history of Osun State to have workers welfare as number one on his governance agenda.
Adeleke’s national/local goodwill
Osun election is always like a mini-national election. The 2018 guber poll in the state had deepened national interest in Osun election, leading to the win of 2022 and widening goodwill due to the governor’s good performance. The local and national goodwill has made Osun a no-go area for election riggers. The defensive and protective strength of local coalitions and the eagle eye of the world are potent to deter electoral robbery.
APC crisis of candidacy
The Osun APC today faces a major crippling challenge: lack of electable candidates to square up to Governor Adeleke. Traditional rulers whose domains are in opposition’s purported areas influence have endorsed and prayed for Governor Adeleke’s second term.
Osun APC is unelectable
Due to APC’s negative records while in power, the people of Osun are not ready to forego the present for the past. The APC, while in power, pauperised the people and deployed poverty as a state weapon. Adeleke’s administration changed the scenario, paying pensioners, offering free medicare to senior citizens, liquidating the half-salary debt, enforcing local content in project execution, deepening local economy, fighting poverty through access to finance and upgrading infrastructure statewide.
Dancing governor as agent of good governance
What the Osun APC targeted as a weakness for the incumbent has turned out to be an asset. The governor’s love for dancing has no negative impact on his capacity to deliver on his campaign promises and performance in government. As the governor radiates good vibes, the state is witnessing unprecedented turnaround attested to by local and national observers. Interestingly, the governor is touching all zones from Ifeland to Iwoland and from Osogbo to Ijeshaland.

Appeal Court reaffirms Abure as LP National Chairman
The Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Friday, reaffirmed Mr Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).
The three-member panel, in a judgment delivered by Justice Hamma Barka, relied on its judgement earlier delivered on Nov. 13, 2024, to make the declaration.
The.panel made the decision in two separate appeals. While Sen. Esther Nenadi Usman & others were the appellants in the first appeal marked: CA/ABJ/CA/1217//2024, Labour Party & others were respondents.
In the second appeal marked: CA/ABJ/CV/1232/2024, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was the appellant while LP was the respondent. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Appeal Court had, on Nov. 13, 2024 in the earlier judgment in appeal number: CA/Abj/CV/1172/2024 between Labour Party (Appellant) against Chief Olusola Nehemiah Ebiseni and INEC (respondents), held that Abure remained LP national chair.
Justuce Barka, therefore, held that the two appeals decided today could not determine the leadership of the LP, having already been determined by the appellate court.
He said the appeals emanated from an incompetent suit and the trial court, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite of a Federal High Court in Abuja, lacked jurisdiction to have determined the leadership of the party on Oct. 8, 2024, ordering INEC to among others, recognise and deal with the Abure-led leadership.
The judge, in the first appeal, held that in view of the fact that the leadership of a political party is not justiciable, the court had no jurisdiction to determine whether or not the leadership of a party is well constituted.
He held that the issue of leadership is an internal affair of the political party, which the trial court could not determine in that case.
Justice Barka proceeded to hold that since the lower court lacked the jurisdiction to hear the case, all what it did without jurisdiction, including its judgment, amounted to a nullity.
He then set aside the judgment by Justice Nwite and also struck out the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1271/2024 for want of jurisdiction.
The judge, who said that both appeals were against the same Oct. 8, 2024 judgment by Justice Nwite, applied the judgment in the first appeal to the second one filed by INEC.
Barka clarified that the leadership of the LP remained as it was decided in the Nov. 13, 2024 judgment “of this court which I had the privilege of delivering on the 13th day of November, 2024, that Barrister Abure was adjudged as the National Chairman of the first respondent (LP). That judgment still stands.”
The judge directed parties and the general public to respect the judgement of the Court of Appeal which earlier affirmed Abure as the national chairman of the LP -

Focus on making life better for Bauchi people, rather than inciting them against FG”, TSF tells Gov. Mohammed.
By Majeed Ishola
The Tinubu Stakeholders Forum (TSF) has accused Bauchi state Governor Bala Mohammed of launching attacks on the federal government in order to distract attention from his inability to live up to public expectations. In a statement signed by its Chairman Ahmad Sajoh and Secretary Afolabi Josiah, TSF argued that there is little or nothing on ground in Bauchi state to justify improved federal allocations in the last 19 months.
“While comments by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State were ostensibly aimed at the federal government, they reveal not only a lack of understanding of ongoing reforms but also a troubling pattern of distraction from the pressing issues within the state.
“One of the Governor’s assertions, that tax reform bills would “block funds going to Northern States,” is not only false but sensational. Such claims, rather than fostering unity and progress, seek to misinform and incite.
” The reality is that these reforms are designed to promote transparency and fiscal discipline, ensuring that resources benefit all Nigerians, including Northern States. To suggest otherwise is to insult the intelligence of the citizens who are bearing the brunt of failed leadership.
“For Governor Mohammed to lament that governors “like himself” are suffering is an affront to the ordinary citizens of Bauchi who endure poverty, inadequate healthcare, and collapsing infrastructure under his administration.
“We must emphasize that the greatest beneficiaries of the subsidy removal policies championed by President Tinubu’s administration are state governors.
“It is a fact that increased allocations to states provide opportunities to invest in critical sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture but unfortunately, in Bauchi, these funds appear to have been disproportionately directed toward projects of questionable priority, such as overpasses or “dry bridges” in the state capital, while rural development, agriculture, and livestock initiatives remain neglected.
“Governor Mohammed’s administration has presided over the collapse of agencies meant to support agriculture and animal husbandry, key drivers of Bauchi’s economy. Meanwhile, persistent allegations of financial impropriety and inflated contracts under his leadership continue to overshadow the lives of citizens who desperately need meaningful development.
“Let us not forget the visible indulgence in personal luxuries, including new personal properties springing up in Bauchi and beyond. If such practices represent his idea of “suffering,” then it is no wonder the citizens of Bauchi feel left behind.
“Moreover, Governor Mohammed’s rhetoric has reached an unacceptable low. His admission that he restrained himself from using foul language in the presence of a religious leader is a shocking reflection of his values as a leader.
“To even contemplate using such language in any setting is unbecoming of someone tasked with upholding the dignity of public office. At a time when the North is grappling with the erosion of societal values, including the scourge of drug abuse and political thuggery, leaders like Governor Mohammed must rise above cheap rhetoric and serve as role models for the younger generation,” it added.
TSF also urged Governor Mohammed to redirect his focus to the real issues confronting Bauchi State rather than playing to the gallery.
The group said: The citizens deserve more than rhetoric and theatrics; they deserve responsible leadership that prioritizes their welfare and development. Bauchi’s future lies in addressing poverty, revitalizing agriculture, improving education, and ensuring access to quality healthcare—not in constructing controversial projects or engaging in baseless attacks against a federal government committed to national progress.
“We encourage Governor Mohammed to carefully study the tax reform bills he seeks to criticize, as they are tools for creating a more equitable and sustainable economy. Rather than spreading misinformation, he should embrace these reforms and the opportunities they provide to advance his state.
“Bauchi deserves a leader who understands the responsibility of governance and rises above political grandstanding. It is time for Governor Mohammed to refocus his efforts on uplifting the people of Bauchi and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s collective progress.”
The group added that it remained steadfast in supporting the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, which it insisted are rooted in transparency, accountability, and the commitment to creating a better future for all Nigerians.

GROUP LAUDS PRES. TINUBU ON RESULT-ORIENTED LEADERSHIP, URGES NIGERIANS TO SUPPORT HIS POLICIES IN 2025
– Says its Members Will Commence Advocacy Campaigns Nationwide on Mr. President’s Achievements Following Scheduled Inauguration_

By Biola Lawal
FLOWERBUDNEWS: National Co-ordinator of the leading pro-Tinubu Group,Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates (NTCA- aka No Vacancy in Aso Rock 2027), Hon. Uche Nwabueze has called on Nigerians to intensify their support to the Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.Nwabueze expressed optimism that ”the year 2025 will surely be a year to celebrate the magic wand of Mr. President and his very resourceful team.”
Hon. Nwabueze stated the above when he addressed journalists today in Lagos after joining other Christian faithful for a service to mark the New Year in the Ikeja area of Lagos.
This was disclosed in a statement by Nkem Anyata-Lafia, the National Publicity Secretary of the outside rhanisation: Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates (NTCA- aka No Vacancy in Aso Rock 2027).
He noted that, given what is already being seen in the prices of fuel and other essential commodities across the country, there was strong need to extend a hand of fellowship to the drivers of the sundry reforms of Mr.President in the diverse sectors of our national life.
Hon. Nwabueze pointed out that many Nigerians, who had hitherto doubted the expected outcomes of some of the policies and reforms of the Tinubu Administration, were beginning to understand that everything President Tinubu as the nation’s leader does is aimed at putting the country on the right pedestal to take its deserved place within the comity of other nations of the globe.
The former President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and Founder of the former Youth Democratic Party (YDP),who was also a distinguished member of the 2014 President Jonathan’s National Constitution Reform Conference, used the occasion to highlight some of the areas of the Nigerian economy that had been allowed to drift for so long and reassured the citizenry that the Tax Reform Bill of Mr.President pending before the National Assembly has been packaged to address the economic loopholes overlooked by previous Administrations in Nigeria .
“You see,we need to do the right things to get the right results. A cliche’ tells us that it is only a mad man who does the same things the same way all the time while expecting different results at all times. Our nation is ripe for various forms of reforms so that we ourselves do not sink Nigeria into where we may not be able to rise again as a nation.Do you know that most Nigerians do not pay what we call income tax, yet they expect government to do everything for them!
“Look at the energy sector. Most of us travel round the world daily. In Rwanda,in Kenya,in Tanzania, how much is a liter of patrol, for instance? Go everywhere across the world Nigeria has one of the least prices for petrol.Or are you not surprised how much support Mr.President’s policies continue to receive from other leaders, especially our Governors, across Party lines? Forget someone like Governor Bala of Bauchi State,I know him very well and also know what he seeks to achieve with his recent public statements against the well-intentioned Tax Reform Bill.He has always wanted his Party and the North to see him as the leader he is not.
“Ok. Just from the removal of subsidy on petroleum products alone, even Governor Bala knows how much increase that has happened to the revenue he receives monthly from Abuja. Our States and other sub-national governments have become the better for these policies since the coming of Mr.President! What about the cabals feeding fat on the national till in that energy sector and so many other undeserving benefits to the rich that most Nigerians are unaware of…just like they were doing using the exchange rate of the Naira against other foreign currencies.
“Whether one likes or not, some of the policies and reforms that President Tinubu has embarked upon since he took over the reins of governance in 2023 should have happened a long time ago in any country that is serious to address poverty and social inequities in the long run.I would say it’s unfortunate Nigeria had to wait all this time for a President Tinubu to assume the Presidency and do what he is currently doing.
“This is why some Nigerians are wondering why Mr.President is receiving such global support and accolades on his governance initiatives. Those countries and institutions know that Nigerians cannot continue to revel in a fool’s paradise. At the rate the country was going, Zimbabwe’s former economy would have been a child’s play if the pitiable drift had continued under President Tinubu. Yet,I find some naysayers daily alleging that it’s all conspiracy theory; that the Bretton Wood institutions do not want Nigeria to rise past their preferred nations! Which Nigeria? It is always laughable that we mistakenly compare our potential for greatness with the reality on ground.”
Hon. Nwabueze, who equally told journalists to be alive to their role of educating society without bias at all times, described President Tinubu’s assumption of power as a saving grace for a country that had for so long been in the throes of economic, security and social implosion. He wondered why the issue of electricity has continued to be a subject of mismanagement from one Administration to another and expressed optimism that the constant collapse of the national grid currently being witnessed across the nation and all the issues of corruption that have continued to bedevil and sabotage efforts injected into making things work in the sector would, like the steel sector, receive President Tinubu’s Midas touch and become a thing of the past.
Again,hear him:
“This is why we at the Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates ( No Vacancy in Aso Rock 2027) have on our decided to join those who are telling the world the beautiful things the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is engendering in our country. And we are calling on everyone who can see the differences being delivered on the turf of our nation to join our advocacy in support of Mr. President’s Agenda for Nigeria. It doesn’t matter what political party you belong to,what matters is the change the Renewed Hope Agenda is delivering to our homes everywhere across the country.“Our organisation has identified like-minded individuals and groups and we all had a gentleman’s agreement to collapse those groups into the Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates.Today, the result is that our structure is everywhere across the country, from the national level to the whole 774 Local Government Areas and we still have the intention to drive the structure down to the Political Wards! We intend to keep Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora abreast with all that the Tinubu Administration is doing, knowing that most of it goes unreported. We have decided that, with our upcoming inauguration,we will no longer keep quiet on the progress being made by this Administration “,the National Co-ordinator,Hon. Nwabueze revealed.
Established late last by a spectrum of political and pressure groups across the country, the Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates (NTCA) is today a leading pro-Tinubu Group with branches within and outside Nigeria. The Group, which is led by various experienced political actors, most of whom are still in various places of leadership in both the public and private sectors,is funded through personal donations of members and admirers.
