Any person who assaults police personnel should be dealt with – IGP direct officers

    By Flowerbudnews

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun, has directed supervisory police officers to deal commensurate and appropriately with any person who assaults any police personnel.

Egbetokun gave the directive on Friday in Enugu while addressing officers and men of Enugu State Police Command during his official two-day working visit to the Command.

“We will not tolerate any assault on our police officers; not to talk of killing police personnel. An assault on any police personnel is criminal and an assault on me, the IGP.

“For 2025, we are not going to take any kind of assault on our personnel and not talk of killing any of them.

“Anywhere there is assault or killing of any policeman, you all must respond commensurately and appropriately. We will not tolerate it anymore,” he said.

The IGP said that in 2025, there would be massive training and retraining of police personnel across board in commands, formations, squads and units.

“We are aiming at professionalism, discipline and competency this year through training and retraining of personnel,” he said.

Egbetokun said that President Bola Tinubu was committed to the welfare and well-being of police personnel.

He noted that President Tinubu always acknowledges the sacrifices police officers and men are putting to ensure security nationwide.

“President Tinubu is personally making a robust welfare package for police personnel, which I know will take care of all our welfare worries and concerns.

“However, it will remain internal with the police and not for public or press consumption,” he said.

For Enugu State Police Command, the police chief noted that he had been getting fantastic, positive and pleasing reports concerning the operational successes of the Command.

“Daily, I get a sit-rep concerning what is happening in Enugu State from the Commissioner of police. There is nothing that happens here that I do not know.

“I am quite impressed by what the Commissioner, officers and men of the Command as well as the state government and residents are doing to ensure security here.

“I am super proud of your conduct and achievements in the command, which the governor had attested to me earlier in the day,” he said.

Egbetokun noted that in 2025 the police would stamp out criminals in the state, those that had been chased away would not return and the headquarters would support the Command with all necessary resources.

“You are going to record more achievements this 2025, when we start giving additional support to the Command,” he said.

Earlier, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Kanayo Uzuegbu, appreciated the IGP for the official working visit and his fatherly support to the state Command as well as its formations, squads and units.

Uzuegbu, who rolled out the Command’s achievement in 2024, appealed to the IGP for more personnel, arms and ammunition, operational vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) among others.

“I have listened to the submission of the learner counsel for applicant and gone through the affidavit evidence.
“I am of the view that the motion ex-parte is meritorious.

“The application is hereby granted except that the period of the investigation can only last for a period of 90 days,” Justice Nwite said.

The I-G, in the motion filed by Mohammed, sought an interim order directing the listed “banks to freeze the accounts mentioned in the schedule attached to this summon pending investigation and prosecution of this case.
“An order directing the banks to issue details of the account package(s) and to place a Post-No-Debit (PND) on the accounts, disable the ATM while allowing inflow into the said account as from the date of this court order.
“An order of the court, directing the bank to apprehend the account holder or any person transacting business on the said account and contact the police through this number 09011483807”
Giving two grounds, the lawyer said the accounts are subject of investigation and are reasonably suspected to be warehousing proceeds of unlawful activities or fraud.
He said “iIf there is any dealing with the accounts by way of withdrawal or transfer to another account by the person under investigation/investigator and the person that have absolute power to deal with the account will render nugatory any consequential order(s) which the court may make at the conclusion of this application.”
In the affidavit deposed to by Glory Ohio, a detective with the Nigeria Police Force attached to Force Criminal Investigation Department, on Feb. 12, 2024, the I-G received a petition bordering on stealing and breach of trust which preliminary investigation revealed to be money laundering.
Ohio averred that the head of the team was assigned to investigate the complaint to determine the allegations contained in the petition and investigations were initiated in that respect.
“That the complainant alleged that, he needs a (SPV) Special Purpose Vehicle company to enable him secure the contract with Nigeria Navy which led him to entered a joint venture agreement with the defendant who has the company name Indetix Limited.

“The Nigeria Navy disbursed the contract sum in instalment to be used in execution of the contract.
“That the petitioner received a letter from the complainant that he is not comfortable with the first agreement signed by both parties for 15% of the profit rather a 7.5% of the total sum of the contract to his own share of the contract.
“That the petitioner disagreed with the proposal and the new terms intended to be smuggled into parties earlier agreement.
“That the refusal of the petitioner does not go well with the suspect as a result of which the suspect sent a purported company resolution to the bank and removed the petitioner as a signatory to the joint account, which makes him the sole signatory.
“That his act was motivated in furtherance of his clandestine motives to steal from the joint account and he did stole money under the guise of purchase of the board engine.
“That the suspect further transferred the contract sum paid into the joint account to various accounts in other to disguise the origin of his illegal activities,” the officer said.
Ohio said the purported money disbursed for the purchase of the engine board was later transferred back to the suspect different account from the joint account.

According to the detective, this is done to promote money laundering and conceal his illegal activities.
The officer said the intelligent report gathered so far revealed that the suspects were making effort to transfer or withdraw money from the accounts and that unless the court grants the order, otherwise, the investigation will be jeopardise.

2025: Black day looms over Aso Rock –Pastor Prize Aluko

.. Says Nigeria will witness economic turnaround

    Flowerbudnews
An Abuja-based Christian Minister, Pastor Prize Felix Aluko of the Resurrected Assembly, an arm of Glorious Ministry (GROM), has made numerous prophesies about events to expect in 2025 including a chilling prediction of a looming black day in the nation’s seat of power, the Aso Rock.

The clergyman and lead pastor of the church, however, said year 2025 is going to be a better year for Nigerians who will witness an economic turnaround that would crash the dollar rate to between N900 to N1000 per dollar.

    (Pastor Prize Felix Aluko)

Aluko, who made the numerous prophesies during the church’s annual crossover service in Abuja, claimed to have seen them through spiritual revelations and this was made available in a statement on Friday.

He said there would be a worrying concerned about the whereabouts of President Bola Tinubu after embarking on a foreign trip.

Pastor Aluko is said to have a track record of striking predictions of the future with his eerie of prophesies manifesting into reality.

He equally predicted a national tragedy involving the crash of three helicopters that would claim the lives of prominent government officials.

Aluko further revealed that a sitting deputy governor and a minister would drop dead including one of the greatest father of faith who would be called home.

“I see a black day in Aso Rock and I don’t know who it pleases the Lord to call home.

“I see the president travelling out of this nation and the whole nation is concerned because they were not revealing the whereabouts of the president.

“There shall be three helicopter crashes carrying important personalities of the Federal Government.

“A popular king in the South -West shall be dethroned while one of the greatest father of faith in Nigeria shall be called home.

“There will be an inter tribal war around the Niger-Delta region that would claim lives as blood would flow, ” Aluko revealed.

He said there would be a national protest that would rock the entire country against the Federal Government or an arm of government.

On the political scene, Aluko prophesied that a new political configuration made up of prominent Nigerians including past presidents, would spring up to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in 2027.

“A new political configuration with influential personalities will emerged under the leadership of former Presidents of this nation to contest against the APC government in the 2027 general elections.

“This year, the Lord told me to tell the people that they have seen the worst of the year 2024. The worst year 2024 is put behind them and year 2025 is going to be better.

“Things will come down gradually before the end of the year and the poor will see air to breadth,” he said.

On the war against insurgency, the GROM lead pastor prophesied that prominent Nigerians would be arrested by the Federal Government for sponsorship of terrorism activities.

“The Lord say we shall hear names of great men that would be nabbed for terrorism sponsorship by the Federal Government and be brought to book.”

On the international scene, Aluko revealed that there will be a military coup d’etat in one of the African countries while there will be an evil projection against the United States of America (USA) President-elect, Donald Trump on the day of his inauguration that will take him weeks to recover.

On the final analysis, he described 2025 as a year of power and undeniable victory for Christians with unshakable faith in God.

Kidnappers demand N60m More for Release of Couple after collecting N10M

    – Family of victims sold house, car and other belongings to raise the paid N10m ransom

The abductors of a retired civil servant, Mallam Yakubu Dada and his wife, have refused to release them after payment of N10m ransom.

The couple was kidnapped along Kontagora-Tegina road in Niger State in October, 2024.

According to a journalist with Daily Trust, Akote Sadeeq Abubakar, Dada’s family sold his house, car, and household items to raise the N10m they paid to the kidnappers.

However, the kidnappers demanded an additional N60m ransom and ten motorcycles which they said they cannot meet as they have sold all their valuables.

“As we celebrate the New Year in peace, let us not forget that many residents of Niger State remain in captivity, with their families losing hope of their return,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday, January 2.

“One such victim is Mallam Yakubu Dada, a retired civil servant, and his youngest wife, who were kidnapped on the Kontagora-Tegina road in October. In a desperate attempt to secure their release, his family sold everything they owned—his house, car, televisions, and furniture—to raise the N10 million initially paid to the abductors.

“However, while awaiting their freedom, the kidnappers have now demanded an additional N60 million and 10 motorcycles. The family simply cannot meet these new demands.

“Furthermore, 23 women from Allawa in Shiroro Local Government Area have been in captivity since February 2024, along with many farmers from Kontagora and Mariga who are also being held hostage.

“The Niger State government must act immediately to intervene and ensure their safe release.”

    Comments from social media:

If Nigeria govt get sense, cut the bike pipe, install a tracker and seal it professionally. Give to the family and the #60m to give to kidnappers. Track them later and finish them.

Which government get sense. All over the world the primary task of government is to protect its citizens. There is kidnapping going on in every part of Nigeria. People are suffering looking for money to bail their loved ones everywhere.

Stupid people are blaming the Australian government for issuing travel warnings to their citizens about Nigeria. If you are an Australian, will you come to Nigeria this period?. Let the truth set us free. Yet clowns in APC will be deceiving the presidency that all is well with Nigeria.

  • Warri refinery, Tinubu’s new year gift to Nigerians -TMSG

Warri refinery, Tinubu’s new year gift to Nigerians -TMSG

    By Danladi Ahmed
The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has described the reopening of the Warri Refinery as an unexpected new year gift from the President Bola Tinubu administration to Nigerians.

In a statement signed by its Chairman Emeka Nwankpa and Secretary Dapo Okubanjo, the group said it was a pleasant surprise that the first phase of the rehabilitation of the 125,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery was completed without a fuss.

It read in part: “Coming within a few weeks of the old 60,000 bpd Port Harcourt refinery going on stream in November, not many Nigerians expected that the 125000 barrels a day Warri Refinery would be restarted soon especially after several missed deadlines on the Port Harcourt plant.

“This is why, like many Nigerians, we were surprised to hear another positive development from the effort initiated by former President Muhammadu Buhari, who in 2021 took the first step towards the complete overhaul of all four government-owned refineries.

“It is easy to recall how several sceptics, particularly politically exposed persons, accused the then President of going on a wild goose chase while others claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was simply setting funds aside for the 2023 election under the guise of rehabilitating refineries which they claimed were dead.

“But today, the wisdom of millions of Nigerians in retaining APC in power after President Buhari’s two-term in office, has been proved right with the manner President Bola Tinubu ensured that two of the 4 refineries began operations within his first 18 months in office.

“This, for us, is no mean feat especially as the first two refineries had laid prostate for 16 perfidious years of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administrations spending humongous millions of dollars on suspicious Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) that never turned anything around but only left Nigerians more helpless and hopeless.

“We recall that on assuming office President Tinubu had vowed to not only complete what his predecessor started, but to also ensure that Nigeria becomes a net exporter of petroleum products but naysayers including a former President were dismissive of him.

“Only recently, some people even claimed in the media that Nigeria had wasted a combined sum of $3 billion to overhaul refineries that had not produced a drop of petroleum products.

“While we acknowledge that the Warri refinery is not 100 per cent complete, we remind Nigerians that not many people can remember the last time the plant produced AGO (diesel), Kerosene and naphtha which are now being produced by the Refinery.

“So coming at the dawn of a new year, we urge Nigerians to see the positive development as a new year gift which has set the tone for greater gifts to Nigerians on the watch of President Bola Tinubu.

“We hereby join eager Nigerians to urge the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to ensure accelerated repair works on the Kaduna Refinery and the 150,000 bpd refinery in Port Harcourt in order to bolster Nigeria’s status as Africa’s leading refiner of petroleum products.

TMSG is convinced that the Bola Tinubu administration will take further steps to ensure that the refineries are in safe hands this time to fully actualize the vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

    End
