The Great Delusion by Majekodunmi Oseriemen Ebhohon is an epic theatrical tragedy and socio-political satire that uses the theories of *Episteresurrecism*, *Afrocession*, and *Inversionism* to dramatize the catastrophic consequences of historical erasure, anti-Black racism, and epistemic theft.
The play opens with a Prologue where a young white girl, JULIAN, listens to her wise GRANNY recount how the world’s collapse began when Black genius and labour withdrew from global exploitative systems.
At the heart of the drama is DEEP, a White supremacist patriarch, his wife MARGARET, and their disabled son JACK, whose friendship with KWAME—a Black boy—threatens Deep’s racist worldview, his political ally STATE, and their faction, THE BLIND MAJORITY.
In response to centuries of dehumanization, the Black Community stages an Afrocession—a mass exodus and return to Africa—taking with them their intellect, labour, and ancestral knowledge.
This withdrawal triggers a global collapse: infrastructure fails, hospitals crumble, economies disintegrate, as historical Black figures—Katherine Johnson, Daniel Hale Williams, George Stinney—as well as the unnamed Black builders of the White House and the Capitol, return as ancestral hauntings, demanding justice.
In *#TheGreatDelusion*, the world confronts its dependence on the very people it had devalued.
