APC Governorship Primaries Reconciliation Committee Extols Rt Hon Ojo , Agboola’s Statesmanship on their birthdays

The Oyo State APC Governorship Aspirants Reconciliation Committee has congratulated two of its members, Rt. Hon. Olagunju Ojo and Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola,(Halleluya) on their respective birthdays.
Olagunju Ojo, a former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, will clock 75 on Thursday, August 20, while Agboola, a former senator, celebrated his 66th birthday on Thursday, August 13.
In a congratulatory message by the committee, it appreciated the duo for their contributions to its efforts to promote unity, understanding and reconciliation within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
The message was conveyed by the committee’s leadership through Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, a former senator and 2019 former governorship aspirant, and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, a former minister and a 2007 former governorship candidate
The committee commended Olagunju Ojo and Hosea Agboola for their years of commitment to politics and public service, noting that their experience and leadership qualities remained valuable to the reconciliation process.
It said their contributions had earned them recognition within their respective political constituencies in Ogbomoso and Oke-Ogun respectfully as well as across Oyo State.
The committee described the two politicians as statesmen whose dedication to peaceful reconciliation and party unity had continued to strengthen efforts to bring members and stakeholders together.
Olagunju Ojo, born on August 20, 1951, began his career as a primary school teacher after obtaining a Grade II Teachers’ Certificate from the then Baptist College, Iwo.
He later obtained additional diplomas and degrees and worked in different sectors before joining politics in 1990.
Gunju , as he is popularly known , had served as a councillor in Oriire Local Government and later became a member, Deputy Speaker and Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
He is also a farmer and administrator and currently serves as the Oriire Local Government Ambassador of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the APC, in addition to his membership of the party’s 2027 governorship aspirants reconciliation committee.
Hosea Agboola, popularly known as “Alleluyah,” was born on August 13, 1960, in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He holds a Higher National Diploma in Estate Management from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and began his working career with the Oyo State Ministry of Finance.
Agboola later served as Supervisory Councillor for Works, Transport, Land, Housing and Survey in Iseyin Local Government between 1994 and 1996.
He subsequently served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters under former Governors Rashidi Adewolalu Ladoja and Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala.
In 2011, he was elected Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During his tenure in the Seventh National Assembly, he served as Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and was the only PDP senator from the South-West.
Following his years of involvement in the PDP, Agboola resigned from the party in October 2025 and later joined the APC in 2026 alongside thousands of supporters and other defectors in all Local Governments in Oyo state
The committee described his wealth of grassroots political experience and public service as an asset to the APC, particularly in the Oke-Ogun axis of the state.
It also commended both Ojo and Agboola for their roles in the vurrent reconciliation process.
The committee wished the two celebrants good health, wisdom, fulfilment and many more years of service to the APC, Oyo State and Nigeria.
