As part of sustained efforts to deepen research culture, strengthen academic capacity and position its scholars for greater success in competitive research funding, the Management of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, under the leadership of the Acting Rector, Engr. Dr. T. M. Adepoju, has announced a high-impact webinar on grantsmanship for members of the academic community.
The capacity-building programme, organised by the institution’s Centre for Research Development, Innovation and Grant Management (CRDIGM), is themed “Grantsmanship: Writing Winning Proposals for Research Grants.”
The webinar, scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom, will feature the Vice-Chancellor, Chief Executive and Academic Officer of Summit University, Offa, Kwara State, Prof. Abiodun Musa Aibinu, as the Guest Speaker.
According to the organisers, the webinar is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and globally recognised strategies for developing competitive research proposals capable of attracting national and international grants.
The Acting Rector, Engr. Dr. T. M. Adepoju, who is the Convener and Host of the programme, reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering commitment to promoting research, innovation, academic excellence and professional development. She noted that the initiative reflects the Management’s vision of building a dynamic academic environment where research-driven solutions contribute meaningfully to national development and global knowledge.
The webinar is expected to provide participants with valuable insights into grant identification, proposal writing techniques, research planning and strategies for securing sustainable research funding, thereby enhancing the institution’s growing reputation as a centre of innovation and academic excellence.
The Director, Centre for Research Development, Innovation and Grant Management (CRDIGM), Mr. Rasheed Saheed Lekan (PhD in View), described the programme as a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening the research capacity of academic staff and fostering a vibrant culture of innovation, collaboration and grant acquisition across the Polytechnic.
He encouraged all academic staff to take advantage of the unique learning opportunity by participating actively in the webinar, stressing that the knowledge to be shared would significantly improve their competitiveness in securing research grants and advancing scholarly excellence.
