The announcement was made at the party’s State Congress held at the Liberty Stadium, Oke Ado, Ibadan, presided over by Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle.

They described the move as a testament to fairness, equity and inclusiveness, following the ward and local government congresses.

”Before we started the congresses, we leaders met and we agreed on two things – One, that we would allow leaders to emerge organically, and I want to commend all the leaders for respecting that.
“ We also agreed that we would not interfere with the results and also that we’ve done,” Teslim said
”Today is the conclusion of the whole programme, as far as the state is concerned, today is our state congress, now you can see that our wards and Local government congresses went peacefully.

“Today again, you could see that no crisis, nobody knows that we are even doing congress, because that is the product of what we call consensus arrangement,” Oseni said
