24 Academic Staff of the University of Calabar have been promoted to the professorial Cadre.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Offiong Efanga Offiong disclosed this at the 253rd meeting of the Senate of the institution.
The breakdown shows that 11 were elevated to the level of Associate Professors while 13 attained full professorship.
The new Associate Professors are Olayi James Eburikure (Special Education), Emanghe Emmanuel Emanghe ( Educational Management), Ogban Felix Ukpai ( Computer Science), Oladeji Babatunde Stephen ( Food Science and Technology), Oko Peter Ereh ( Environmental Resource Management) and Osuchukwu Esther Chukwudi.
Others are Ukwetan John Okpa ( Curriculum & Teaching), Ambe Benjamin Oyua ( Environmental Education), Hope Samba Neji ( Physical Science Education ( Chemistry), Udumo Bassey Obeten ( Environmental Education) and John Adinya Odey ( Information Technology).
The new professors are Queeneth Ndukwe Kalu ( Anaesthesiology ) Obiekezie, Eucharia Obiageli, ( Arts Education), Obi Joseph Abebe ( Physics), Asibong Udeme Essien ( Family Medicine), Beshel Cecilia Akpana ( Adult & Continuing Education), Asuquo Eno Ndarake ( Educational Technology) and Unimna Fidelis Abunimye ( Social Studies & Civic Education).
Others are Ifere Eugene Okoi ( Economics), Eneji Rosemary Ine ( Sociology), Odigbo Benedict Ejikeme ( Marketing), Ozung Pascal Ogar ( Animal Science), and Anoh Kevin Usman.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated them on their new appointments and wished them well, going forward.
