Federal Polytechnic Ayede has proudly joined other institutions across the country at the 22nd edition of the Nigerian Polytechnic Senior Staff Games (NIPOSSGA), which opened on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State. The institution’s presence further strengthened its growing profile as an emerging force in sports-driven student development.

In his goodwill message, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed (FNSE), described NIPOSSGA as “more than a sporting festival.” According to him, the event has evolved into “a convergence of ideas, culture and youthful excellence—an arena where institutions renew bonds, celebrate shared aspirations and demonstrate the unity that defines the Nigerian polytechnic system.”

The Rector urged all participants to embrace the games with honour and true sportsmanship. “As this edition unfolds, I encourage every participant to approach the games with dignity, cooperation and fair play. Beyond winning medals, may this gathering inspire learning, friendship and the discovery of new strengths,” he said.

Dr. Abdul-Hameed reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to holistic student development, noting that Federal Polytechnic Ayede remains committed to “promoting sports, innovation and character-building initiatives that prepare students for excellence.” He prayed for the success of all scheduled activities and asked Almighty Allah to grant all delegates a safe, rewarding and memorable NIPOSSGA experience.

Also present at the opening ceremony were delegations from Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ondo State; and Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State. Their rectors—Dr. Ademola Ebeloku and Dr. Kadiri Kamoru respectively—were among the dignitaries in attendance.
The Director of Sports, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Mr. Bashir Bello, expressed gratitude to the Rector for providing the institution with the opportunity to participate in the 22nd NIPOSSGA games. He applauded the Rector’s unwavering commitment to sports development and student empowerment.
A member of the institution’s Sports Committee, Mrs. K. O. Bulala, who was also at the event, joined in appreciating the Rector, describing him as “a true lover of sports and a strong supporter of youth engagement.”
