Ede (Osun). FLOWERBUDNEWS: Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured that his administration was determination to initiate more good policies, projects and programmes that would further improve the economic and social wellbeing of the people of the state.
Governor Adeleke gave the assurance on Wednesday during the campaign rally at Olusokun ward 4, Ede North Local Government Area, for the forthcoming Council elections.
The governor, who was represented by Dr Taoheed Adisa Olohunde (of the Office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor), said that the Adeleke led administration had impacted positively on the lives of the masses of the state, adding: ” and so, our party deserved to be voted for, hence our campaigns across the wards in the council area.”
He assured that the Party’s candidates ”have what it takes to provide good governance at the grassroots and liberate the people of the society and that’s why we come to identify with you.’:
Speaking, at the rally, Special Adviser to the Governor on mining, Prof Lukuman Jimoda said that the party was poised to usher in a new administration in the council, pointing out that youths and women would be given a pride of place in the scheme of things.
He assured that the party’s candidates for the forthcoming polls enjoyed the full support of the party, assuring that ”all hands would be on desk to ensure total victory for our great party, PDP.’:
He described the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon Taiwo Amodu and other contestants as the people who he could vouch for to listen to the yearnings of the people at the grassroot level and deliver democratic dividends.
Also speaking, a PDP leader, prince Lere Laoye expressed gratitude to Governor Ademola Adeleke led administration for his transparency and inclusive leadership, which he said brought overwhelming support to the party.
He called on the people of Ede to continue in their unflinching support and prayers for the Governor and the party and turn out enmass to vote for the PDP in the next local government elections.
Presenting the party’s flag to the chairman, vice and councillor to be, the state PDP Deputy chairman ,Hon Yakubu Kasali Idowu urged the people of Olusokun ward to vote massively for the PDP next year February 25
He commended Governor Adeleke and party leaders for presenting Hon Taiwo Amodu during the selection process, which he noted, was purely based on merit, stressing; ‘:this is a clear indication that there is mutual understanding today within the party in the state.”
In his acceptance speech after
receiving party’s flag, Hon Taiwo Amodu expressed gratitude to the governor and the party leaders for their unwavering support.
He assured the party’s teeming supporters that he would embark on an issue-based campaign, and that, when elected, he would work to fulfill his promises and mandate to bring the dividends of democracy closer to the people.
Hon. Taiwo expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the coming polls, saying; ”with your support, the party would remain in the saddle of administration in the state for a long time”.
Present at the rally were party leaders such as party chairman in Ede Local government, Hon sikirullai Olayiwola, Hon kamordeen Bayo Olagoke, Prince Banji Oyetunde , Alhaji Mubashir Kunle Abass, Alhaji Razaq Abass, Alhaji Muritala Azeez Bayonle, and Director General of the campaign organization, Hon.
