Osun: Excitement in Oshogbo as Launching of Beam Begins on the Okefia Flyover Bridge

Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews): Amidst visible excitement, Engineers have commenced launching of beams of the Okefia flyover bridge being constructed by the Osun State Government as one of its numerous MEGA PROJECTS across the state.

A FLOWERBUDNEWS Correspondent, who visited the Okefia Flyover Bridge project site, reports that members of the public were seen watching and admiring the manoeuvering of the huge crane as it effortlessly lift the heavy beam, placing it on pile of the bridge.

The fascinating construction process attracted comments from the excited members of the public many of whom, commended Governor Ademola Adeleke ”for the excellent job being done on the bridge”.

They also commended the Contractor handling the Okefia project for Osun state, A’skorj Nigeria Limited for doing a good, high standard work on the Flyover bridge.

An Engineer, Engr. Bamidele Olaotan, who also came to witness the beam launch, told FLOWERBUDNEWS that he had been following the construction of the bridge since it was flagged, said that ”just like our GOD-Sent Governor Adeleke, this Contractor – A’skorj Nigeria Limited deserved commendation for doing a very standard job, adding:

”From the way and manner they paid attention to all necessary engineering details, this bridge will be of the highest quality and standard possible.”

FLOWERBUDNEWS reports that construction experts and Engineers from the Osun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure were seen on regularly basis monitoring and supervising the construction work to ensure that the State got a bridge of the highest value.

The Project Manager of A’skorj, Engr. Tosin Adebayo told FLOWERBUDNEWS that the stage of Beam Launch is a clear signal that the project was on the last lap of its completion.

”We are now at the Superstructure level, once the beams are placed, we will construct the bridge deck, then, 95 per cent of the construction is completed,’ Engr. Adebayo told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

”The remaining five per cent work is essentially finishing work – electrification, paravet and general beautification,” Engr. Adebayo said, assuring, ”this bridge will be beautiful and very strong.”

”The bridge’s width is wider and will allow for easy passing of wider vehicles,” Engr. Adebayo told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

”The grade of concrete and reinforcement are in line with standard practice,” he said. (FLOWERBUDNEWS)
