Day 2: Protesters Defy Curfew, Hold Protest in Kano LG

DESPITE a 24-hour curfew in place in Kano, some protesters have taken to the streets in the Minjibir Local Government area of the state to protest hardship in the country.

It was gathered that the protesters displayed placards carrying different inscriptions to convey their messages.

A resident of the area, Tasiu Minjibir who spoke to Vanguard through telephone, said the protesters conducted themselves peacefully and carried out the protest around the local government headquarters.

He said the protesters were demanding for reversal of fuel subsidy removal among others.

Recall that Governor Abba Yusuf had on Thursday evening declared a 24-hour curfew in the state following hoodlums wielding different weapons hijacked the protest
