Chief Hycienth Ngwu, a former South-East Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Nigerians to use this Easter to pray and hope for a better nation.

Ngwu, who is a foundation member of the APC, made the call on Saturday in his “Easter Message of Renewed Hope” to Nigerians issued in Enugu.

He said that there was a need for Nigerians to act right and say right things about the country even as the leaders work round the clock to fix the myriad of surmountable challenges facing the country.

The APC chieftain also urged Nigerians to keep faith and be patient with the efforts of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration, through its Renewed Hope Agenda, “to bring back the glory of our fatherland.”

According to him, it is clear that Tinubu is endowed and had the requisite exposure and knowledge to steer Nigeria back to progress and prosperity to the benefit of all Nigerians.

“President Tinubu needed our patients, understanding and support to achieve his good intentions for the nation,” he said.

Ngwu said that in the interim, however, Nigerians must close ranks and be their brothers’ keepers as exemplify the lifestyle of Jesus Christ and other great prophets that had led the people to greatness.

“We must imbibe a collective will to succeed, which should be built on love and sacrifice, to support and pull ourselves through the present challenging socio-economic realities of the country.

“As a nation, every one of us must exhibit love and selfless sacrifice in words and actions to support our leaders to get us out of the woods faster than we thought,” he said.

Ngwu also called on Nigerians to put patriotism first and shun rancour and sentiments.

“In the spirit of Easter, let us resurrect from the unbridled quest for materialism and illegitimate wealth; rather we should always think about the common good of the generality of the citizens.

“As a nation, we should continue to show love, empathy, forgiveness, justice, equity, compassion and kindness for one another,” he added.
