Health: Maitama District Hospital Sensitises Nigerians on Stroke Prevention

Abuja ( Flowerbudnews): Maitama District Hospital has began a public awareness campaign to educate and enlighten Nigerians on how to prevent stroke as part of the Hospital’s corporate contribution to public health.

Flowerbudnews reports that the Department of Internal Medicine of the highly respected medical establishment,located in the highbrow Maitama District of Abuja, undertook enlightenment of patients etc, on how to prevent Stroke.

Maitama District Hospital began the Stroke Prevention enlightenment and education of the public as part of its corporate activities to mark this year’s International Stoke Day.

The international Stroke Day was held globally on 29th of October 2023 with the theme: “TOGETHER WE ARE GREATER THAN STROKE”

The Maitama District Hospital used the occasion to commence a media awareness campaign on methods that could be adopted by Nigerians to prevent stroke.

Flowerbudnews reports that the hospital was able to educate and sensitise over two hundred people within the hospital Medical Outpatient department (MOPD), antenatal clinic (ANC) and the General outpatient department (GOOD).

The hospital also created a screening point at the MOPD where people were screened of hypertension and diabetes, while gifts such as water, apples etc were showered on the participants.(Flowerbudnews)
