Ilorin: Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Kwara Command, on Wednesday, decorated 95 newly-promoted officers in Ilorin.
Speaking at the occasion, the Comptroller of Immigration in the state, Aminu Shamsuddin, congratulated the affected officers.
He urged them to see their promotion as a chance to embrace new challenges and responsibilities in the service.
Shamsuddin also advised the NIS officials to put in their best for the progress of the service, adding that their elevation would be based on their hard work and commitment.
He, however, extended his condolences to the families of the officers who recently died in a road accident.
One of the newly-promoted officers, Babatunde Aberi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after his decoration that he was very happy with elevation, even as he was full of appreciation to God for attaining the feat.
Aberi, who is now a Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI), said that it was a privilege to be among those being decorated, adding that some were promoted but did not live to see the day.
He encouraged his colleagues who could not make the promotion not to relent but work harder and have the belief that they would be promoted next time.
NAN reports that the spouses of the newly-promoted officers joined in decorating and celebrating them. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng) / Flowerbudnews
